Snowmass Luxe Getaway 256

We came to Snowmass for our anniversary expecting a romantic mountain getaway. And to be fair, Snowmass is absolutely beautiful, we had a wonderful time together, and we made some fantastic memories. We also apparently needed to take out a small business loan first. 😂 The biggest issue was not simply that Snowmass is expensive—we expected a mountain resort destination to be pricey. What we did NOT expect was just how quickly all of the additional costs would pile up. Our stay was around $400, but there was also a $500 hold placed on our card. Parking for two days was another $100. And despite the cost of the accommodations, we were expected to clean the room and do our own laundry. Food and drinks were another adventure entirely. Four drinks cost us $110. Two burgers and fries were $93. Our CHEAPEST dinner during the trip was around $160 for two people. At some point, we started laughing because what else are you going to do? We decided that if we're going to spend roughly $2,000 on a weekend getaway, we generally prefer there to be a cruise ship involved. 😂 The frustrating part wasn't that Snowmass is an expensive destination. It was the lack of transparency about the total experience. We would have appreciated much clearer information ahead of time about parking costs, deposits/holds, housekeeping expectations, and the general price range visitors should anticipate once they arrive. Those details matter when someone is budgeting for a special trip. Would we visit the mountains again? Absolutely. They're one of our favorite places to escape together. Would we plan another Snowmass getaway the same way? Not without doing a LOT more homework first. We came home with beautiful pictures, great memories, a hilarious story about my husband spilling an entire beer on the floor our first night, and considerably less money than anticipated. But hey—we may not have enough money left for groceries or gas, but at least we're still in love. 🤣 Happy anniversary to us.

Underwhelming | Location good for ski trip, very clean, nice helpful staff, luxurious appearance of property in common areas, nice decor, good swimming pool and jacuzzis | Shower very very small with plastic curtain not ok for high end property, water from shower leaks all over floor due to poor design, not a 5 star compared to other 5 star resorts, room listing said unit had microwave and laundry in condo but unit did not have those items. Booking.com customer service not helpful with this. Parking was advertised as $50.00 per night but I was charged $60.00 per night. Would not recommend to book this property through booking.com.
